Hickory St. Details: Free for members, $3 for nonmembers Dallas artist and professor Philip Rubinov Jacobson will talk about Flemish and German masters of the Renaissance during the Visual Arts Society of Texas' meeting next week. Jacobson will use a slide show that gives a general look at how the Renaissance masters would have built a picture. Jacobson is the co-founder and has been the director of the first Institute for Contemplative Education and Visionary Art in the United States. He founded and directed the new School of Extended Studies at Naropa University in 1995, while he served as a dean. His painting seminar “Old Masters — New Visions” is an international summer class he's taught since 1997. The slide lecture will be followed by a book signing of the new edition of Drinking Lightening: Art, Creativity and Transformation.
