financials

Tax Returns
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, VAST files a non-profit tax return with the IRS following each fiscal year. Currently, VAST’s resources qualify it to file a shortened Form 990-N (an “electronic postcard”) for which it receives a receipt.

Monthly Financial Reports
Each month the Board of Directors receives a financial report that consists of a balance sheet and the income/expenses for the previous month. Each year a specially selected committee of members and a board of directors member perform an audit of the fiscal year just ended, and following the audit present a formal report to the Board of Directors. All financial reports are delivered to each director by email; the master copies of financial reports are held in the Treasurer’s records. Interested members and non-members are welcome to contact the VAST Treasurer to discuss these documents and ask for a copy.

If further information on VAST’s financials is needed, please contact us at treasurer@new.vastarts.org.
